RANGITIKEI HUNT. POINT-TO-POINT MEETING. A large number of hunt enthusiasts attended t.lio point-to-point meeting of tho Rangitikei Hunt Club at Marton on Wednesday, when Mr K. McK. Duncan won tlireo of tho four events. In the Members’ Stccplcchaso Old Remus fell, Mr C. L. Bull’s gelding breaking its back. Ihe detailed results are: — HEAVYWEIGHT STEEPLECHASE. Two and a half miles. Mr K. Melv. Duncan’s b g TROUBLE (Sir Frisco—Worry mare), 13.7 (Sir Frisco —Worry mare), aged, 13.7 (Owner) 1 Mr P. W. Briant's b g GLENLEVEN, aged, 13.0 (Owner) 2 Air iiolt Simpson’s br g IIINE; syrs, 13.0 (Mr J. D. Simpson) 3 Also started: Hyingreat (Mr A. B. Marshall), Sergeant (Mr J. G. Wilson) Trouble and Glonleven were in tho lead throughout. Sergeant baulked at the second jump, but eventually got over. Ilino and Hyingreat wero handy to the leaders, but Troublp definitely assumed command with threo fences yet to bo jumped, and eventually won by threo lengths.

At the second fence, where there was a spar on top of tho wires, High Society and Tho Storm Wind ran Ngita on to the wiro fence, but they were pulled up and went back to jump correctly, though Ngita went on. Ngita and Trouble were thus well in the lead, and when tho concluding round was entered on Trouble went ahead to win by ball a furlong from Ngita, who. was a similar distance back. Ngita was disqualified and Tho Storm Wind was placed second. MEMBERS’ STEEPLECHASE. About two miles. Mr K. McK. Duncan’s b g GISBORNE .JACK (Birkdalo —Sporty), aged, 12.7 (Owner) 1 Mr E. H. Simpson's blk g BLACK ROCK, aged, 12.7 (Mr J. D. Simpson) 2 Mr A. B. Marshall's b m LADY BLAKE, aged, 12.7 (Owner) 3 Also started: Old Remus (Mr G. L. Bull), Cheeky (Mr A. Hammond). Cheeky led for tho greater portion of the first round, followed by Black Rock, while Old Remus fell at the back ol the course. After jumping the roadside double Cheeky fell at the next fence, 'caving Gisborne Jack in tlie lead from Black Rock and Lady Blake. Confidently ridden, Gisborne Jack won by two chains from Black Reek, with Lady Blake a similar distance back. HUNTERS’ JUMPING COMPETITION (Hunter Style). Mr L. T.
