(From Our Own Correspondent.) Ol'Jixl, Aug. 1. Mr 0. Allwrigbt presided over a good Attendance at a meeting of the Opik! branch of Uie Douglas Credit Association oi New Zealand last Monday night.
The Indies’ basketball 1J team played a team at Rangiotu this afternoon. 'J'lie Uangiot.ii ladies were victorious, the score being ltangiotu 21 goals, Opiki 10. 1 lie following players represented Opiki : M. Johnson. K. Carson, .1. Soutliee, M. Alve. 1.. Cookslcy, 1). Bugluss, M. Wilson, N. Alve, Joyce Southeo. An invitation has been extended to the
ineintiei's of Ihe Women’s Institute by the Foxtoii Institute to attend their birthday celebrations. Inlluenza is rather prevalent in tlic district at present, several households being affected. Mrs J. Hausen is at present staying at LCketuiiuna, where she attended the wedding ol her sister.
