WEDDING.

BROWN—WILTON. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. . Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Palmerston North, on July 24, tho bride being Flora Elizabeth, fourth daughter of Air and Airs J. H. Wilton, of Afnngawkata, and the bridegrom, Eric Waller, - elder son of Air and Airs J. A. Brown, of King-ston-on-Thames, Surrey, England. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W. J. Berry, of Rongotea. Air A. J. Graham officiated at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on tho arm of her father; made a very pretty picture, wearing a beautiful model robe of crepe regent and lace. Her beautiful veil, which was slightly trained, was caught to the head by circlets of orange blossom. The gatland bouquet was of winter roses, freesias, and cyclamen. She was attended bv her youngest sister. Aliss Rexie Wilton, as bridesmaid, who was attired in a beautiful peach frock of satin suede and toque of the same tone. Her garlnnd bouquet was of Iceland poppies and fresias to tone. The bridegroom was attended by Air Arthur Costall.

The reception was held at Messrs Collinson and Cunninghame’s rooms where the guests were received by Mrs J. H. Wilson, who was dressed in wine colour, and Mrs Waimvright, great-aunt of the bridegroom, who was dressed in black. Mr and Mrs Brown left later by ear, the bride wearing a blue frock and hat and coat to tone. LEAGUE OF MOTHERS. MONTHLY MEETING. There was a large attendance at the monthly meeting of the Palmerston North, branch of the League of Mothers, yesterday afternoon, Mrs G. G. Hancox being in the chair. The decorations of the hall were carried out with mimosa, camellias and pussywillow. The personnel of various sub-commit-tees was announced bv the chairwoman as follows:—Social. Mesdames Wilkinson, McPherson, Christiansen; tea, Mesdames J. Barsaliti (convener), Clark, Petrie, Waters; cards. Mesdames Doreen and Peters; seating, Mesdames Koberstein, Daley, Welch, Whitehead; entertainment, Mesdames Christiansen. Findlay, Whittaker; magazine, Mesdames Currin. Dredge, Duffel, Prentice; recipes and patterns, Mesdames Herron and Graham ; decorations, Mesdames Anderson and McIver; information, Sirs McPherson. Tho ententainment programme was

;re ally appreciated, those who contributed being Miss G. Smith (pianoforte solos), Miss P. "Whittaker (elocutionary) and Miss L. MacDonald (vocal solas). Mrs B. P. Barlow was the acconipanisle. The happy thought for the day, offered by Mrs V. Stagpoole, was as follows:—‘‘l shall pass through the world but once. Any good thing therefore that 1 can do, or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer it nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this wav again.’ Mrs W. Peters was the recipient of a posy presented to tier by Mrs Barsanti in appreciation of her services as convener of the ten committee.

The competition, tearing a shape of a cow out of paper, created amusej ment, Mesdnmes Melville and Henderson being adjudged equal l>v Miss Mcl Lagan. In tiie draw Mrs Melvillo rcIceived the prize. Those responding to the roll call for “A hook T have read” were Miss McLagan, Mesdnmes Gatley and Lucas, and to the roll call of “The Ideal Husband” were Mesdames Spraggon, | Holmes and Mclver. The tea hostesses were Mesdames J. Barsnnti (convener), A. E. Lovedav, R. Alien, W. R. Taylor, C. Waters, R. ,T. McTver, T. L. Senior, M. Petrie, 1L Griffiths. E. A. Taylor, C. A. Ander'son, Goddard, Mowleni, Chittenden, I Clark and A. E. Holmes. I Thanks to the performers were enni veyed by Miss Rawstrom, and to the tea hostesses by Mrs A. E. Holmes. As Mrs G. Young, the secretary, was indisposed, Mrs McPherson undertook the secretarial duties for tho afternoon.
