BIG SUM MISSING.

THEFT FROM CLERK. DURING FAINTING FIT. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, July 31. A sensational theft, involving a sum of £4OO was committed by some yet unidentified person in Hastings this afternoon, the victim being Mr Dolbel,who is employed as a clerk by the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board. It is stated that Mr Dolbel came to Hastings from Napier carrying this large sum in notes and silver on his way to pay the stuff of tho Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Hastings, lie w’ent into a public lavatory in the railway road and was suddenly overcome by faintness. It would seem that lie went into a complete faint and was overcome for some time. AYlien lie regained consciousness- the money had gone. Mr Dolbel at once reported the theft to the Hastings police.
