PERRY AND FILM STAR.
RUMOURS OF ENGAGEMENT. In reply to recent rumours that ho is engaged to Miss Helen Vinson, an American actress at present working in English film studios, F. J. Perry, the world’s tennis champion, said: ’“We are not engaged. We are just friends.” Miss Vinson said: “Anything is possible.” Perry and Miss Vinson were at Eastbourne on July 15, smiling and obviously interested in eucli other. They met in Hollywood and arrived in London by the same ship. Miss Vinson flew to Brussels when I erry was playing there and accompanied him hack bv aeroplane. They celebrated Perry’s Wimbledone success together and iiave been to many theatres and parties.
