RECOVERY PLAN.
COST TO AAIERICA. AVASHINGTON, July 19. The Treasury has announced that United States recovery and relief measures have involved an expenditure to date of 10,081,000,000 dollars. Of this sum about 1,000,000,000 was spent during tho Hoover Administration and the balance under the New Deal. SUITS FOR DAMAGES. PROTECTION BILL PASSED. AVASHINGTON, July 18. By a vole of 258 to 88 the House of Representatives to-day passed the Administration’s Bill prohibiting suits against the Government lor damages arising out of the abrogation of the gold clause in bond contracts.
