KAIRANGA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) KAIRANUA, July 18. On Tuesday the monthly meeting of the Women’s Institute was hold in the hall. Airs Loamy presided over a good attendance ot members and visitors, some being from the Milson Institute. Tho minutes of the previous meeting were read and adopted and correspondence dealt with. It was decided to make up a hamper for the Willard Home during the Christinas season, as a letter was received from the president' of the home apcpaling for help. The arrangements for the birthday , were discussed and put well in hand. Tile birthday is to take place curly next month. Seven new members were proposed and joined tho institute. Members were very jjlcased to learn that tho treasurer (Aim L. Clark), who is in hospital, had much improved, and it was hoped to soon seo her with them again. An interesting demonstration in scissor painting was given by Alt's Child, who received a vote of thanks. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Airs AJcCiclland, Airs Lewis and Aliss Loamy. The results of the competitions were. —Seniors, tray cloth from 251 b flour bag; Airs Kilgour 1, Aim C. Turner 2, Alls J. Burmeister and Airs Hyde 3. Juniors, plate of shortbread: Miss S. Kilgour 1, Aliss Al. Small 2, Alias J. Kilgour 3. Next month’s meeting will bo held on the first Tuesday and the competitions will be for a 21b jam jar of spring bulbs (soniors), and three buttonholes (juniors). Aliss June Oliver, of Palmerston North, and All's Hampton are the guests of Aim C. W. Turner.
