AMERICAN JUVENILES.
TROTTER AND PACER. mr j. r. McKenzie’s purchases. CHRISTCHURCH, July 17. The well-known sportsman, Mr J. R. McKenzie has purchased two two-year-olds in America. One is a pacing filly, Taka Chance, who hus a mile record of 2.9, and tho other is a trotting colt, U Scott, who has a record of 2.11|. Tnka Chance and U Scott are from the first crop of foals by the high-class trotter Scotland (1.591), who distinguished himself at two and three years of age. These horses wore bred on the same farm as Air Flow, who has impressed Now Zealanders by her recent performances. Taku Chance and U Scott were shipped to New Zealand early in June. Mr McKenzie is a great admirer of the American-bred pacer and trotter, and has previously imported several horses. Considerable interest will be taken in the doings of Taka Chance and U Scott, for it is qestionable if two two-year-olds with faster records have ever boon imported to this country.
