MAORIS’ MATCH.
A BRIEF LAPSE. Received July 18, 11.50 a.m. BRISBANE, July 18. In the Maoris’ match at Toowoomba, at one stage in the second spell the local players appeared likely to trouble the Maoris, whose lead was reduced to 19—8, but the visitors’ lapse was onlv brief and they entered into the lmr'd work for the remainder ol tiie spell, with an even more determined effort, and the last two tiics by Broderick and .McDonald left no doubt as to their physical fitness. The scorers in the match were: — Phillips (two tries), Broderick, .McDonald, and Whiteley (one try each). Hemi converted three tries and kicked two penalty goals; Nepia kicked two field goals. The Toowoomba scorers were: —Meibusch (two tries) and McDonald (one try). Hayes converted two tries.
