JUBILEE CHARITY BALL.
The Palmerston Nortali Central Relief Committee completed four years of service to the unemployed of the city in June of this year, and there can bo no doubt that their work has been of great assistance to those in necessitous circumstances. In November, 1933, the queen carnival contest produced over £I7OO and this largo amount has been augmented by contributions from the Government srt unions, and the committee has until recently been able to carry on without any appeal to the public. The funds are n.ow dcficnitely exhausted, but the work of relief is still to be done. The Jubilee Charity Ball on Friday night is expected to show a good financial result, and to assist to this end citizens are asked, to attend in largo mimbcr.s Everything possible is being done to make it a memorable effort, and a great night is assured all those who attend. Tickets are obtainable at business firms in the Square and at the gates on Friday night. The decorations can be viewed on Thursday night from 7 to 9 o’clock for a small charge.
