The bowling and croquet progressive partv, held in the Town Hall,, was well attended, and tho prize-winners were Airs Ken. Wilson and Air L. Sanson. The monthly meeting of tho Bulls Women’s Institute was held on July 8, Airs Churchill presiding over a large attendance of members and visitors. Remits for the annual conference in Auckland were discussed It was decided to send gifts of food to the AVillard Home ill Pal merston North. Airs Huddleston guve a report on the institute drama, circle meeting. Airs Button and Aliss Kearney gave a play reading, entitled “Saving Samuel.” This was followed by a song, with mandolin accompaniment by Mrs J. 8. Trickcr. Air 11. Atmoro. AI.P., gave an address on national credit and was accorded a vote of thanks. Competition-winners were: —Sponge roll. Airs C. Button 1, Airs J. Ellery 2. Knitted article (using not more than 2s worth of woo!) : Class A (fine wool), Airs Huddleston 1. Mrs (. Button and Airs Ayres (equal) 2; class B (coarse wool). Airs C. Button 1, Miss AVereta 2. Airs Drew (Sanson) judged the competitions. A stall wan well patronised. resulting in £1 Is 2d being handed to the federation funds.
