MATRON’S RESIGNATION.
OLD PEOPLE’S HOME. Having received an appointment in Christchurch, ns reported in the “Standard” recently, Miss A. C. Griffin, matron of tho Old People’s Home at Awapuni, yesterday tendered her resignation to the Palmerston North Hospital Board. ! For five and a. half years Miss j Griffin has been matron oi' the home, , and in asking yesterday to be relieved of her responsibilities in a month’s I time she stated that she had had a ; happy experience under the board’s: supervision, and was most grateful i for the understanding and kindness shown to her on all occasions. “Miss Griffin has won her way into the hearts of tho old people,’' said the chairman (Mr J. K. Hornblow), who added that she had received the very responsible appointment to the position of matron of the Cashmere Sanatorium. The hoard decided, on the motion of Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., to accept Miss Griffin’s resignation with regret, to place on record its appreciation of her services, and to grant her one month’s leave on full salary.
