CONTROL OF SANATORIUM.

HOSPITAL BOARD’S POLICY. “\Ve have done very well in our control of the Otaki sanatorium, and I consider, without boasting, that this institution is being conducted in a first-class manner. W'e have been able to curtail expenditure and carry out certain improvements,” commented the chairman (Air J. K. Hornblow) at the meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board yesterday afternoon. Comment was made by Air A. E. Mansford that it would bo foolish for the board to allow other boards to secure an overriding voice in tlie control of the sanatorium when the Palmerston North Board was liable for the maintenance expenses. “AYe are going on with the policy which we have laid down, irrespective of wliat. any other bourd does, ’ declared the chairman. Advice was received from the Department of Health that additional boards had signified their willingness to co-cq>erate in establishing tuberculosis clinics at tlieir respective hospitals, and to receive representations Torn the department and the two boards controlling the Pukeora and Otaki sanatoria. The chairman was appointed to represent the Palmerston North board in discussions on the subject.
