RABOT ’PLANES
FOR ROYAL AIR FORCE. FIRST IN THE WORLD. IMMENSE POSSIBILITIES. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received June 26, 10 a.m. LONDON, Juno 23. The Air Ministry reveals that Britain possesses the first entirely robot aeroplanes in the world. The Air Force has a flight of secretly equipped wire-less-controlled De Havillands resembling Moths. The machines, without pilots, take of and attain 100 miles an hour. They rise 10,000 feet and perform difficult manoeuvres tfnd land safely within a ten mile radius of the operator. They can be catapulted from a ship and brought down on the water. At present they are being used as targets.
