CHANGE IN LAW.

INQUIRIES BY CORONERS. NEW SOUTH WALES PROPOSAL. Received June 26, 10.15 a.in. SYDNEY, June 26. The Minister of Justice (Mr Martin) proposes to make recommendations to Cabinet for an amendment to the law in relation to coroners’ inquiries. Mr Martin said the conditions to-day were so entirely different from the conditions prevailing when the present law was made that it was essential that the law should be overhauled to conform to the conditions to-day.

“I am doing that, and I think ithe Government would be well advised to consider the question of giving greater facilities to the Coroner to proceed with an inquest when part of the body is produced of a person whom the Coroner is convinced is dead,” said Mr Martin.
