IMPROVING DAIRYING.

HERD TESTING TOUR. “During last winter the federation held 43 propaganda meetings in the North Island,” said the report of the president of the Dominion Group Herd Testing Federation, Mr G. H. Bell, Oakura, Taranaki, which was adopted at the annual meeting of the federation in Palmerston North to-day. “The policy of the management committee is that these meetings be held in the North Island and in the South Island in alternate years. Mr C. M. Hume therefore will be lecturing this winter in the South Island. The management committee is of opinion, however, that there is no longer a necessity to carry out a number of these meetings. Farmers generally are now aware of the objects of the testing movement and the meetings have therefore in many districts served their purpose. It is not intended .to ■ withhold the supervisor’s assistance in this direction from any association which considers it desirable to continue holding meetings.” ■
