RANGITIKEI.

MARTON, Juno 24. The Marton Harrier Club licld its first 64-mile race over the full championship course on Saturday. Conditions were ideal and some good performances were registered. Fourteen runners were sent off at intervals by the starter, Mr J. H. Daslnvood. The race was won by D. Maepherson, who put up a good performance to win by over 100 yards from F. Williams. The latter also ran very well. G. Robertson was fourth, R. Parkinson fifth, and Hill sixth. The latter established the fastest time, of 39min. 41sec. Junior Rugby matches were played in Rangitikei on Saturday, the results being:—Athletic IG, Huntervillc 3; Bulls 11, Old Boys 6; Halcombe <3, Ohingaiti 0. Halcombe maintain their lead on the championship ladder. On Wednesday Rangitikei will play a challenge match against Bush Union for the Bebbington Shield. The team 'has been selected as under: —Full-back, G. Harre; three-quarters, M. Waldin, G. Dickson, H. Taiuru ; five-eighths, P. Potnka and R. Potaka; half-back. B. Johnston ; forwards, L. Davies, 0. Williams, K. Poppe, James, Walker, Marshall, Dallas and Jolly. Reserves: Clapham and Bush (backs), Shaw and Hamilton (forwards).
