THE WELLINGTON CONTEST, i DISTRICT SUCCESSES. WELLINGTON, June 4. A liigjli standard of shooting- was readied at the sixteenth annual Wellington Miniature Rifle Association championship meeting held at the association range, Water Show Building, yesterday. Over 120 competitors, including representatives from FeaI therston, Carterton and Palmerston North, as well as from city and suburban clubs, took part. The Wellington championship was won by T. Pritchard (Brooklyn), who has recently come to Wellington from the Bulls club. He was the season’s aggregate champion of New Zealand last year. His score was 397 out of a possible 400. The runner-up was R. T. Boddy, of the South Club, who lost to Pritchard on the shoot-off. The B grade championship was won by J. W. McHolm, of Hutt, with 295 out of ..a possible 300. C. Burling, of Levin, was one point behind. Mr McHolm is the father of A. J. McHolm, who won last year’s B grade championship. M. Evans, of the South Club, was the C grade winner with, a score of 294 out of a possible 300. Mrs B. Maitland (Hutt Ladies) repeated her success of last year by winning the women’s championship, with Mrs Crawford, of Feafherston, second. Mrs Maitland, with a score of 293. won by one point. The “R” medal was won by T. Pritchard, and the I.C.T. spoons by R. T. Boddy. Results of interest were as follow: A GRADE. Invitation match. —K. Lumsden (Sanson), 100pts., 12s 6d; T. S.
