BOXING.
MARTIN BEATS RYAN. l’er Press Association. AUCKLAND, Juno 3. A professional middleweight boxing contest, between R. B. Martin, of Auckland, and Marine Ryan. of 11.M.5. Dunedin, was won by Martin on points at the end of ten scheduled rounds. 'There was perhaps too much defensive lighting to make the bout really attractive, but over the later stages it was very bright. • Indeed, Ryan proved himself an experienced fighter and his cleverness clearly had Martin puzzled over the early founds, but, once he gained confidence, the Aucklander fought more successfully.
