AVellington.—The penultimate series of games in the first round of the senior competition was contested, the results being as follow: Hutt 11 v. College 0.8. 6; Eastbourne 18 v. Marist 0.8. 14; Petone 10 v. Poneke 9; Athletic 14 v. AVellington 9. College Old Boys, who tie with Petone at the head of the championship table, suffered their first defeat of the season. At Ashburton.—Ashburton drew with the Canterbury B team, 19 all. At Grey mouth.t— Canterbury beat the AA’est Coast, 16—12. At Martinborough.—The Hawke’s Bay juniors beat AA’airarapa, 29—3.
