IRISH RELATIONS.

PROGRESS IN AMITY. MR BALDWIN’S PROPOSALS. LONDON, June 3. The Daily Herald says that authoritative political circles believe that one of Mr Stanley Baldwin’s first acts as Prime Minister will lie to invite Mr De Valera to London, thus taking advantage of the reconstruction of Cabinet to begin negotiations anew. Informal conversations for this purpose are now in progress. The success of the agreements regarding coal and cattle is helping the situation, as is Mr De Valera’s declaration that the Free State will not be used as a base for attacking Great Britain.
