MR FORBES’S REFERENCES. LONDON, May 25. Addressing a distinguished gathering of 10U0 guests at tho Empire Day Jubilee banquet in the vast underground hall of Grosvenor House, Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, Prime Minister of New Zealand, before extolling Britain’s heritage, said: “1 am not, attempting to sell butter or cheese tonight, nor to give figures. 1 don’t want to say what we have done, but to show appreciation of what you liavo done.” Sir James Parr and Mr and Mrs J. G. Coates were present. The Sunday Express prominently displays a long article by Mr Forbes, on its editorial page, dealing with Empire trade, specially stressing New Zealand’s purchases from Great Britain.
