MISS JEAN BATTEN.
TP, I BUTE TO MOTHER. Received May 3, 11.5 a.in. LONDON, May 2. Sir James Purr gave a reception to Miss Jean Batten in the presence of many New Zealanders at Ins office.
Miss Batten, replying, said that one of the most important factors in hexsuccess was that of her mother keeping up her determination despite failures. She hoped that her flights would add to New Zealand’s prestige.
