AUSTRALIAN FLAG.
PRECAUTIONS IN DUBLIN. MR LYONS’S TOUR. Received April 24. 1.5 p.m. DUBLIN, April 23. After searching Dublin and finding one of the few Australian flags' available, the proprietors of the Royal Hibernian Hotel, at which Mr and Mrs Lyons are staying, displayed it. It had been flying lor barely an hour when the police advised its removal as the incorporation of the Union Jack might provoke the more ardent Republicans to tear it down. Mr and Mrs Lyons in the afternoon visited Kildare, the home of Mr Lyons’s mother’s family. To-morro-,v Mr Lyons will unofficially call on Mr De Valera. He then goes to Belfast at the invitation of Lord Craigavon. He and his party are the guests of the British Empire League throughout their stay. Dublin presented a strange appearance to-day. Owing to tho long-con-tinued bus and tram strike, the population has taken largely to bicycles, with which the streets are crowded.
