CATTLE DESTROYED

MILKING SHED FI BE. MASTERTON, April. 23. Shortly before 6 o’clock yesterday morning, a large milking shed on the property of Mr J. H. Payton, Akuia, iVlastertou, was completely destroyed by fire. Two farm hands had been to the part of the building housing the engine,

which was used for driving the milking plant and separator. They had hailed up several cows, and were feeding petrol to the engine when it eangiu me. Despite frantic efforts the flames spread along the floor, and in a short time the building was ablaze. , , The two farm hands rushed to the cowbaiis to release the animals, but three of them were burnt to death. All the others were saved. The building and contents were completely destroyed.
