ST. PAUL’S CHURCH
HARVEST FESTIVAL CONCERT. A harvest festival concert was held in the St. Paul’s Church school room on Wednesday. The items were of a commendable standard and the attendance was satisfactory. The programme I was divided into two sections, the I first being devoted to concert items ! and the second to a one-act play which was well produced. The items were [ diverse in their character, ranging from an enjoyable burlesque by two members of tile choir to elocutionary 1 work by Aliss Joan Alaunder and ’cello solos by Aliss Joan Paton. The concert section of the programme was as follows: —Anthem. “By Babylon's Wave,” choir; duet, “AVhispering Hope,” Alisses AVilson and Lowden; ’cello solo, Aliss Joan Paton; song “Two Grenadiers,”- Air H. E. AVoodliouse; elocutionary, “Having It Out” and “Foolish Questions,” Aliss Joan Alaunder; song, Air H. Blackwood; burlesque, “Love and AVar ’* and “Excelsior,” two members of the choir; songs, “Ships of Arcady” and “Early in the Alornlng,” Aliss lola Clark; part song, “Land of Hope and Glory,” choir. The play, “The Black Horseman.” by Alary Parkington, dealing with 18th century affairs and having an adventurous setting, was produced by Aliss Ella Scotter and was very well carried through. It had a warm reception. Those taking part were Alisses Ella Scotter and G. Laurenson. Airs J. Claridge slid Alisses N. Alaunder, A. Baker, F. Hastings and D. Ellery, Alessrs AY. 11. J. AA’atson and J. Claridge.
