MAYOR’S RETIREMENT.

SIX YEARS’ AIAYORALTY. As indicated in the "Standard” last night, tbo Alayor (Air C. E. Taylor) will not be accepting office as Alayor at the coming election. “It is my dutv to-night to inform the council and tlie public of Feilding that. I will definitely not lie accepting nomination for the Mayoralty at the I coining election,” stated tbo Alayor at i the conclusion of last night’s meeting of the Borough Council. Cr. S. D. Pearce asked the Alayor t to convey to Airs Taylor the council’s 3 full appreciation and admiration for , the splendid manner in which she had [j carried out all her duties in the capas city as Mayoress during the past six I years. Her work, said Cr. Pearce, y had really been a fitting companion 3 to that of die Mayor, and between ] them Feilding had greatly benefited. 5 (Applause.)
