CRASH INTO POLE.

TAXI PASSENGERS HURT. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL. March 14 At an early hour this morning a taxi containing seven passengers collided with a telegraph pole on the North Road when returning to the city, resulting in injuries to Mr C. F. Lowe, Mr G. Braxton, Mrs E. Ross, of Invercargill, Miss N. Blanks, of Riverton. and Mr R. F. Keith, of Henly. The last-named suffered a broken leg, The driver, Mr J. Green, was only slightly hurt, but his passengers were admitted to hospital suffering from cuts, abrasions and shock. The car was severely damaged. One passenger escaped injury and is unable to be located meanwhile. The impact was heard a considerable distance away and roused the neighbourhood.
