EGG-LAYING. MASSEY COLLEGE CONTEST. FINAL RESULTS. Only those birds qualifying under the egg weight regulations are eligible for prizes. The following are the official winners of the fourth annual contests, which concluded on March 12, being 50 weeks’ production. TEAM CONTESTS. Sections O and D. The Breeders’ Trophy.—Awarded to the team scoring the most points for number of eggs, quality of eggs, and breed points: Mr A. J. Davey’s (Stratford) Whit© Leghorns, with 1222 eggs. The Golden Egg Trophy.—To the team scoring the highest number of eggs in both sections: Miss E. T. Somer’s (Glen Oroua) Rhode Island Reds, with 1805 eggs. The Silver Egg Trophy.—To the team scoring the highest number of eggs, in the opposite section to the winners' of tlie Golden Egg Trophy: Mr C. IV. L. King’s (Auckland) "White Leghorns with 1272 eggs. SINGLE PENS CONTEST. Section A and B. Highest score in both sections.—Mr A. G. Mumby’s (Heretaunga) White Leghorn, with 200 eggs. Runner-up, opposite section.—Mr W. A. Larsen’s (Eeilding) Black Orpington with 242 eggs. Other Specials. Silver Hen Trophy—Value £4o.—Mr S. D. Morris’s (Upper Hutt) White Leghorn hen, highest individual score of all Leghorn entries with 204 eggs. Rhode Island Red Club’s Rose Bowl (For highest individual Rhode Island Red). —Mr F. A. Dewhurst’s (Auckland) Bed, with 287 eggs. Highest individual, all sections.—Mr W. A. Larsen’s Black Orpington with 291 eggs. Certificates of merit to Messrs W. A. Larsen and F. A. Dewhurst.
