THE BROADCASTING BILL

BEPBESENTATION OF LISTENEBS

Amendments to tlie Broadcasting’ Bill were circulated in the House of Representatives,yesterday afternoon, chief of these being a proposal to appoint to the board two members from persons nominated by organisations recognised by the Minister as being representative of the holders of receiving licenses. Clauses dealing with the control of programmes and the cancellation of licenses have also been redrafted. A general discussion took place, when a good deal was heard about the B class stations, the Minister refuting 1 the suggestion that the Bill was designed to eliminate these.
