MANAWATU CLUB. GLENDINNING CUP SERIES. The summer golf competitions a.t the Hokowhitu links were successfully concluded at the week-end, when a bogey handicap occupied the attention of the competitors in the Glendinning Cup series. Although the playing conditions were excellent, the only competitor to account for "The Colonel” wa§ E. G. Seeker, who returned a card of 1 up, his success giving him six points in the cup series. Three members, D. McKenzie, A. E. Guy and T. Stubbs, were all square. The leading cards were. —E. G. Seeker, 1 up; D. McKenzie, square; A. E. Guy, square; T. Stubbs, square; H. E. Fairey, 1 down; L. A. Ferguson, 2 down; J, F. Field, 2 down; F. T. Bendall, 2 down. Prior to the concluding competition, D. McKenzie had held the lead with a total of 11 points, J. F. Redden being next with 74, while there were five otters within striking ’ distance. McKenzie added two points in the bogey handicap to extend his winning margin over Rodden, who was 14 points clear of three mtmbers who had six points each.

The points credited the competing players were: —D. McKenzie, 13; J. I. Rodden, 74; J. F. Field, 6; Ea.mes, 6; E G. Seeker, 6; C. Louisson, 6; G. M. McOaskill, 5; F. Bendall, 5: A. E. Guy 4; T. Stubbs, 34; G. I. McGregor, 24; B. J. Jacobs, 2; N. H. Sinclair, 2; AV. J. Knights, 1.

AVELLINGTON PROVINCIAL TITLE

Per Press Association. AVELLINGTON, March 10. Seventeen players took part in tho first Wellington provincial champion of champion golf contest at Miramar to-day. J. L. Black (Hutt) returned the best gross score, 73 —77 —150, followed by AV. G. Clark (Levin), 153, n.nd J. H. Drake (Miramar), 154. Clark’s eight handicap gave him the best net score.

AV. T. AVilson (Foxton) returned a gross score of 166 and J. B. Duthie (Feilding) 176.
