ODDFELLOWS’ LODGE.
WANGANUI DISTRICT. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The conference of the Wanganui District of the Manchester Unity, 1.0.0. F., was held at Feilding recently, the District G.M., Bro. T. Fowell, presiding. Among the delegates were Bros. G. Farrar, S. G. Northey, 0. J. Rodgers, S. J. Watson (Manawatu), N. Bruce (Manawatu Juvenile), A. E. Garlick, J. It. Pask (Manchester) ; E. W. Beard (Kimbolton), H. J. Fowler, R. L. Gill (Marton); W. G. Nye (Foxton) and Daubrey (Itangitikei). Membership reports and funds, and sick payments records were examined and discussed. An application by Lodge Raetihi for permission to purchase a new hall at an estimated cost of £3OO was deferred pending a further ports on the administration of all hall properties by the lodges. The District Secretary (Bro. H. M. Keesing) reported on the Salek Memorial Fund, and upon the position of the surplus of Loyal Itangitikei Lodge. Bros. Farrar and N. Bruce reported upon the affairs of the juvenile lodge. The resignation of Bro. Keesing from the position of District Secretary was accepted, and it- was decided to place on record appreciation of his work. Officers were elected as follow :—District Grand Master, Bro. It. Howden; deputy-District G.M., Bro 0. J. Rodgers; District Secretary, Bro. G. Wilson ; auditors, Bros. Gibson and McKinnon ; management committee, Bros. Garlick, Watson, Beard, Nye, Keesing, Rose and Fowler. Permission was given to Loyal Rangitikei Lodge to hold meetings monthly instead of fortnightly for six months of the year. Bros. Harris a.nd Keesing were appointed delegates to the B.M.C. It was decided to hold the next district conference at Apiti. The district jewel was awarded to Bro. Wilson (Loyal Wanganui Lodge and Loyal Sister Victoria Lodge), who had introduced 54 members for the year. The Dilks Collar was awarded. to Loyal Sister Victoria Lodge. During the coming year the Manawatu and AVanganui Lodges agreed to stand out of the jewel competition to encourage the smaller lodges. It was resolved that district levies be the same as formerly. The report and balance-sheet were adopted, and the new officers installed. The matter of conveying expressions of loyalty and wishes to His Majesty” the King from the Manchester Unity of New Zealand was referred to the New Zealand branch. It was resolved that the account owing by Bulls Lodge to the Manawatu Hospital Association be settled by the payment of £5 out of the portion of the Bulls funds to be retained by the district.
