BODY IN RIVER.
IDENTIFICATION MYSTERY
HAMILTON, March 4
Exhaustive inquiries, so fax unsuccessful, have been made by the Hamilton police to identify the body of a man, aged between 50 and 60, which was recovered from the Waikato River at Hamilton on January 11. The body was seen floating on the river at Cambridge the previous afternoon and had been in the water for about five weeks.
To-day the police circulated a detailed description of the man. He was sft Bin in height, of strong build, clean-shaven, and probably bald. He bore tattoo marks on both arms and some rosary beads were found round his neck.
When the body was recovered the fact that the hands and feet were tied suggested foul play, hut this theory is definitely discounted by the police.
