YOUNG SWIMMER’S DEATH

SYDNEY, fit arch 3.

Attacked by a shark last night at North Narrabeen. Herbert McFprlane, aged 22, was so badly mangled oil his right thigh and groin that he died in the ambulance on the way to hospital. Although the shark was still swimming about, John Barrett, aged 27, of the Narrabeen Surf Club, swam out and brought McFarlane ashore.
