TWO MEN FItOST-BITTEN. AUCKLAND, March 2. Wliile New Zealand residents were experiencing the intense heat of summer early in January, two men on the steamer Wairuna, which arrived at Auckland from Los Angeles this week, were frost-bitten. The vessel was loading at Ocean Falls, a Pacific Coast port in British Columbia, near Alaska, when the country was swept by a blizzard, and exposing to the extreme cold resulted in one man having the tips of the fingers of his right hand frostbitten. while a second man suffered frost-bite of one toe. It was stated that all the time the vessel was at Ocean Falls it was snowing heavily, and drifts became piled several feet high on the wharf, and also over the ship.
