BURIED UNDER ROCKS.
TWO MEN RESCUED. Per Press Association. INVEKGAKUi.LL, i'eb. 15. The chance passing ol a police constable probably saved the Pros of two residents of Tuatapere, J. Mouat and S. Kokay, when they were buried in a slip of sandstone rock while working on Kaka Road, near luatapere. 'the accident occurred a few minutes before Constable bkipworth passed in his car. Mouat was buried to the hips and Kokay was almost completely buried. Two pieces of rock, estimated to weigh 2cwt. each, were pressing on the latter’s chest. Constable Skipwortli treed Mouat, and then, with Mount’s assistance, he dug out Kokay with a shovel. It was only by chance that Constable Skipwortli happened to be on the road, which is seluom used and under ordinary circumstances the next person to have passed would not have been due till to-morrow evening.
