The Board of Trade returns for January arc as follow : £ Imports 61,931,000 Exports 35,481,000 Re-exports 5,834,000 The principal increases, as compared with January of last year are:— Imports. £ Rubber 904,000 Non-ferrous metals an d manufactures 455,090 Exports. £ Coal 308,000 Iron and steel and manufactures thereof 405,000 Non-ferrous metals and manufactures 310,000 Machinery 588,000 Cotton yarns and manufactures 342,000 Woollen worsted and manufactures 214,000 Chemicals and drugs 353,000 Decreases are as follow: Imports. £ Other food 1,653,000 Wool 2,653,000 Hides and skins 345,000 Oils, fats, and resin anti manufactures 295,000
