LIFE-SAVER WOUNDED.

BRUSH WITH FISH. Received February 15, 11 a.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 15. Darcy Lorenz, aged 20, a life-saver at Austinmer, had his left thigh ripped open by a shark or a big fish as he shot a breaker to the beach. Despite the pain of the wound, which was eight inches long and three inches deep, l.orenz managed to walk up the beach and then collapsed. He was sent to hospital and operated on. It is believed that Lorenz was brushed by a fin of a shark, but it is suggested that a swordfish may have been responsible.
