The totalizator handled £10,377, as against £8647 last year, the total for the meeting being £21,814 as compared with £17,558 last year. At the finish of the Electric Handicap the stewards inquired into the running of the winner, Life Guard, who finished fourth on the first day, and they passed a resolution that they conidereth the horse had been incapably handled by Jarvis on the first, day, and in view of the evidence saw no reason to suspect improper practice. Therefore they decided to take no action. B. H. Morris, rider of Life Guard. was censured by the stewards for not riding his mount out at the finish of the Electric Handicap, in which he was nearly beaten. Results : OKAIAWA HURDLES, of £IOO. Davistock looked to have the race won at tho distance, hut Chief Marionette came like a holt from the blue to win on the post by a head. Aga Khan was two lengths awayELECTRIC HANDICAP, of £75. Reipar drew out to win comfortably by three lengths from Lady Eka. INAHA HACK HANDICAP, of £IOO. Eight and a-lialf lurlongs. 5- ST. CLARA, 8.5 (L. Dulieu) 1 6- CEREAL, 8.10 (McFarlune) -2 2- ONEIVHETU. 8.2 (G. A neck each way. Time, 1.46. Turning into the straight, Onewhetu and Silk Sox were in front from St. Clara, Lapel, Cereal, and Tahurangi. In a good finish St. Clara cut down the leaders to win by a neck from the fast-finishing Cereal.
