OBITUARY.

SIR HENRY LAMBERT. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Feb. 11. The death has occurred of Sir Henry Lambert, aged 66, for sumo years assistant Uncler-Secretary at the Colonial Office, and Senior Crown Agent for the Colonies. He retired in 1932. Sir Henry Charles Miller Lambert, K.C.M.G., was born in 1868, and educated at Eton and at Oxford. In 1892 he entered tho Colonial Office, and in 1897 he acted as private secretary to Mr Chamberlain for the House of Commons Select Committee on South Africa. From 1897 to 1907 ho was Chairman of Committee of the Emigrants’ Information Office. Sir Henry visited Canada in 1903, and two years later toured Australia and New Zealand. He was Assistant Under-Secre-tary of State at the Colonial Office, and secretary to the Imperial Conference from 1916 to 1921. Sir Henry Lambert was Acting Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies from 1924-25, and in 1932 he retired from the office of Senior Crown Agent- lor the Colonies after eleven years’ service.
