SHIPPING AGREEMENT.

REGULATIONS OF TONNAGE. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Jan. 23. A scheme for adjusting the supply of tonnage to demand has been drafted at the preliminary conference of the International Shipping Conference which has been meeting in London and at which 17 countries have been represented. This was announced in a long communique issued to-day which gives a survey of the problems, but does not give "details of the proposed scheme, which will bo submitted to shipowners’ associations in the different countries. They will examine it with a view to a ’ further consideration by a full meeting of conference, if necessary, after a further preliminary ingIt is understood, however, that the scheme follows the broad line of the rationalisation plan lor oil tankers which was introduced last May.
