MT. RICHARDS ROAD
(From Our Own Correspondent.) IvOMAKO, Jan. 17. Mr and Mrs R. A. Brace, of Palmerston North, were visitors to the district during the week. Other visitors were Misses R. Lancaster, of Kairanga; Miss A. Batchelar and Mr J. Batchelar, of Utuwai. Miss E. K. Wingate is at present residing in X’almorston North. Miss Nancy Whitlock, of Wanganui, is staying with Mrs B. Stevens, “Mahara.” Mrs Walter Kibblewhite, who was the guest of Mrs J. E. Wingate, has returned to Waipukurau. Mr J. H. Duffy and family have left the district and are residing in Apiti. The dry spell continues and pastures are again beginning to give evidence _ of it. However, rain seems nearer. Picnic sites arc well populated with campers and casual picnickers. On Monday night, Mr and Mrs A. N. Roberts were welcomed home to the district in the popular old-fashioned manner. After welcoming the couple at their home, the party drove to the Mr J. Stevens’s woolshcd for dancing.
