ASHHURST RIFLE CLUB.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) ASHHURST, Jan. 14. Practice shoots were held on t)ic Ashhurst Defence Rifle Club’s range on Saturday. the conditions being 10 shots at 300 and 500yds. -An easterly wind was blowing, making conditions at the 300vds very tricky, the highest score being a 45 by RA Jones. At the 500yds range conditions were a little better, the wind dropping a little, and some fair scores were made It remained for the veteran J. Griffiths to put on tlip highest range score, a good 49. while H. Barlow followed closely with 48 both at the sCCvds. Detailed scores with handicaps, the limits being 47j and 43j, are as follow: —L. Matthews. 42 —-44 —9$ — 95£; J. Griffiths, 42 —49—4 —95; 11. Barlow, 44 —4S —2^ —94j; C. Thomson 44—41 —Bj— -93A; R, A. Jones, 45 —44—4—93; C. Turner, 38—43—10—91; J. Soarle, 40-41—7—88; S. Brookie, 36 —42—10—88; C. May hew, 36 42—10 —88. A practice will be held as usual next Saturday.
