ILL AFTER MEAL.

FOURTEEN PERSONS AFFECTED

Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Jan. 14

Fourteen persons were rendered ill by a meal of potted meat on a farm at Teliouka, near Balclutha, though the only one fatally seized was Seaton Mills, aged 29. Deceased and his brother jointly ran the farm, and the meat for the dinner had been potted from the flaps and the shank end of a wether carcase pressed in an earthen bowl and salted. Both families partook of this meal, and all required medical attention.

The inquest on Mills has been adjourned for a report from the Government Analyst.
