ALMOST 100 PER CENT. COLLECTION OF VOTES. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received January 14, 12.25 p.m. LONDON, Ja.n. 13. Good-humoured laughter between bitter political opponents marked the closing of the Saar poll. It is estimated that 97 per cent, voted. Lorries guarded by armed police and East Lancashire troops with fixed bayonets collected the voting urns and deposited them in a Wartburg garage in the custody of East Lancashire.? in service order. Trains protected by the international troops are bringing in others all night from throughout the Saar. The collection was witnessed bv thousands of spectators shouting “Heil Hitler” and singing the Horstwessel song, the Saa.rland anthem. Many houses displayed row's of lighted candles. Nazis searchlights transformed the snowflakes into falling drifts of The woman who came from Shanghai recorded her vote.
