MAN IN AMBUSH

Received January 15, 10.45 a.m. MELBOURNE, Jan. 15.

While interviewing two suspects at Auburn, Constable James Simpson, aged 38, was shot from an ambush. He was sent to hospital in a critical condition with a bullet just below the heart.
