PACIFIC FLIGHT

BY MR C. T. P. ULM. TO START IMMEDIATELY. CALLING AT AUCKLAND. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph. —Copyright.) Received December 1, 8.50 a.m. VANCOUVER, Nov. 30. Mr C. T. P. Ulm, by telephone from Oakland, announced that he would hop off from Oakland for Australia on Saturday or Sunday if possible. He had planned the flight to start from Vancouver, but the weather conditions are unfavourable. “The rainy season is approaching and it is imperative that we start the transpacific flight immediately,” Mr Ulm declared. He revealed that he will visit New Zealand. “My route will be from Oakland to Honolulu, Fanning Island, Fiji, and Auckland, thence to Sydney.” An additional factor in the flight is the approach of the high tide season at Fanning Island and he must get there as soon as possible. Spare parts for the machine are being rushed from Vancouver by air to permit of a complete overhaul of the machine by Saturday.
