FOXTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Nov. 30. The death occurred in the Palmerston North Hospital of a well-known Foxton and district resident in the person of Mr Stephen Felgate Prentice, aged 55 years. He was bom at Marotiri in 1879 and educated at the old Foxton State School. Later, Mr Prentice was engaged in various occupations in Foxton and district, but was chiefly occupied with flax work. He was married in Foxton and leaves a family of two boys and three daughters. The sons are Messrs Raymond (New South AA’alcs) and Tui (Pirongia, Te Awamutu).. The daughters are all resident at Pirongia where deceased’s aged m-ether also resides. The annual report of the Foxton Surf and Life-Saving Club states that the past season was the quietest the club has experienced since its inception six years ago. This was possibly due to the fact that boisterous weather marred the holiday season. The club experienced a good attendance of patrol members throughout tho season and some intensive training was carried out. An anonymous donor again presented a handsome silver cup for the mest improved surfman and this was awarded to tho secretary, Air M. Baird.
