CENTRAL SCHOOL GALA DAY.
On AVcdnesday next, the Central School will hold their annual gala day, when parents and householders will be given tho opportunity to view the display of work done by the scholars during the year. The exhibits will bo staged in tho spacious assembly ball, whilst outside _ the various classes will give ari exhibition of squad drill. Numerous stalls and novelty competitions under the control of tho ladies’ committee will be well supplied with produce, cakes, sweets, etc., and ice cream will be available. In the evening at 7 p.m. a swimming carnival will be held in the well appointed baths. In addition to the local swimmers, D. Lindsay and L. Smith, Olympic representatives will bo present. The day’s activities will bo brought to a conclusion by a dance in the assembly ball at 8 p.m.
