MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Herbert Ringer Martlew, a musician, aged 27, appeared before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate s Court, to-day, on a charge that he hsid failed, or intended to fail, to provide his wife, Alice Maud Martlew, with adequate maintenance. On the application of Senior-Sergeant Whitehouse, accused was remanded to appear at Invercargill on November 29. George Albert Leith, a salesman, aged 46, was charged that, at Auckland, on November 5, he received £22 10s from Evelyn Shield on terms requiring him to pay the same to Annie Baker, and did fraudulently omit to account for the same, thereby committing theft. Accused was remanded to appear at Auckland on November 28.
